Doug found out at an early age that he was intersted in art when he was accepted to the horizon art program in his formitive years at central middle school. The horizon art program allowed him the ability to work with various mediums at an early age including intaglio, linolium cut, kiln fired clay, and arcylic paint before had reached the age of 13. Upon his entrance into Watchung Hills Regional High School he was accepted into the AP art program, which allowed him the ability to study art at a college level while still in high school. He then attended Syracuse University's School of Visual and Performing arts until 1997, earning a BFA in Art Media Studies with a concentration in computer graphics.

Since his graduation from Art School Doug has worked in the commercial arts, in the field of Adverstising as well as Interactive Design. This specialization has lead doug to create art that deals with Brands. His first major work involves the American Brand and what it has become through the America's Truths. This work can be viewed at dooker.com as a commercial venture tied to his work.

His work on the Dooker line was exhibited at the vanbrunt gallery in the meat packing district as part of group show in the fall of 2004.

Also in college he created the Insane Carrot.
